Netflix has announced that it will be releasing an anime series adaptation of the popular comic book and movie, “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.” The streaming giant will be working with animation studio Production I.G. to produce the series.
The original “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” comic book was created by Canadian cartoonist Bryan Lee O’Malley and was published between 2004 and 2010. The story follows the titular character, Scott Pilgrim, as he falls in love with a woman named Ramona Flowers and must defeat her seven evil exes to win her heart.
The comic book was adapted into a film in 2010, directed by Edgar Wright and starring Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim. The movie received critical acclaim for its unique blend of humor, action, and video game-inspired visuals.
The anime series adaptation will feature a new voice cast and updated character designs. Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the series.
